December plan

A quick addition to review where I am and what is left for me to do before the end of the year.

I have a holiday the first week, and a holiday the last week, so I have time. But I have other things on so depends how many other adventures we get up to in that time.

Running.

I have 119 miles to go. That is 3.8 miles a day. Definitely do-able, but I need to either do every day in a Marcothon style, or put in a bunch of decent distance runs.

Biking.

I have 200 miles to go. That is 6.5 miles a day. Again, do-able, but a marcothon approach isn't going to work for that. I don't have the commitment to get on the turbo every day. I also still need to ride 12 new routes or trails so I need to toughen up and go outside in the cold and get some longer rides in.

Mountain biking I am not going to make, but have known that for months and basically haven't ridden that bike since I snapped the frame in Italy.

Swimming.

I have 15.9 miles still to swim. This one looks ambitious at first glance, and especially since the students are now broken up for exams and Xmas so I am solo for all of them. I have extra swims pencilled in for next weeks holiday, but they could quickly disappear if we come up with more fun plans. And then I am at the mercy of the council for pool opening times later in the month.

Others.

I am too far behind on weights, core, and stretching and not really invested in finishing those. But that is no surprise. Same happens every year. Yoga I should sneak over the line as long as I do some, and fast runs I am one behind but that is flexible enough to throw in some hill reps on top of a few Parkruns (see below) and maybe a cross-country.

From my adventures list:

We still have 13 miles of the Dava Way to finish, and the weather next week looks awful for that, but I think we will probably commit to doing it because it was the first and biggest adventure on our lists.

Some of the other things I think I can still complete; Origami (4 to go), Woodwork jobs (3), DIY jobs (4), board games (6), ice creams (1), tree-planting (9 but that is basically one job), new recipes (6), run new trails (2) and Parkruns (3).

Some very sketchy ones that I could maybe do if I really went after them or combined them with other things; Summit hills (6 to go), wildlife spotting (6), ride new trails (13) and the very risky swim 750m in under 12 mins.
