Training Diary - Weeks 2 & 3
Well, that did not go as planned.
I finished last fortnight noting that my car was going for its MOT and that would mean I had to ride a couple of commutes. I figured Monday both ways and maybe ride in on Tuesday and walk back to get the car. It turned out to be the whole week, and because I was going to lose so many other sessions I also had to ride everywhere else in order to fit in swims and basketball.
That seems like it would benefit my ride numbers, but it actually just made everything more difficult. The extra time and effort of sorting out clothes and getting changed and showered for just 15 minute cycles makes them massively inefficient. But there were so many of them I had to fit in that I couldn't just go by a longer route and turn them into worthwhile rides.
I managed to do 2 Parkruns, I won one of them despite running outside 20 minutes and the other was so slow it doesn't even count as a fast run and barely counts as a training run. My hip is deteriorating more rapidly now. It is hampering my run and bike volumes as well as my run pace and is interfering with my normal life as well now. I need to chase up my next set of injections.
This week I was back in training with the students so at least I did a proper structured swim session and a full turbo session and I have don at least something towards core, yoga etc.
