Training Diary - Weeks 8 & 9

Not the best fortnight on the training or personal fronts, as I had my granny's funeral this week, and one of my training bikes stolen last week, but I did get to my first triathlon (ok, aquathlon) race of the year.

I coasted round Elgin Parkrun in sub-20, but literally coasting and having a chat as if it was a tempo training run.

I had an absolutely shocking swim at Glasgow Aquathlon. Barely scraping under 13 minutes. I have swum faster whilst doing an easy 2,000m swim this year. I did then follow that with a 19:12 run so dragged myself up from 63rd to 24th. But I need to figure out what went wrong with that and fix it before Ibiza.

ETU have finally gotten round to announcing where the Euro Cross Triathlon and Cross Duathlon Championships will be held this year. They are going to be in Riva Del Garda in Italy, just north of Verona. They are annoyingly close to the Euro Aquathlon in Menen, Belgium and I will have to do a week there, a week at work and then a week in Italy in order to make it work.
