Training Review - Weeks 24 & 25
The weather has been absolutely scorching and I have been struggling to fight temperatures in the mid to high 20s in the evenings.
I rode all the way out to Strichen after work on Friday, and back home again on the Sunday evening. 32 miles each way were my two longest mountain bike rides ever. I got sunburnt on the way out and had to fight a headwind on the way back. Then I spent the second week trying to recover from that.
I did a 3k race at Peterhead. It went really well for the first km, then I completely ran out of gas and dropped to a slower pace than my recent Parkruns. Finished in 11:23. Not terrible, but almost a minute off where I should be.
I missed some swimming as I hoped to do a big outdoor swim for the Summer Solstice event at the beach, but it was too cold for me.
