Training Review - Weeks 26 & 27
I went to my first TPT club training session for a long time. Mainly to collect my new cycling jacket, but partly to get in an extra swim and catch up on some of my lost swim miles from the last few weeks.
My Tour de France 12% challenge is going well. I have been on or over my miles for the first 8 days and have done big chunks of them outside on the road bike. I did puncture on Sunday and wasn't able to complete that ride, but I will pick up those miles on the TdF rest day tomorrow. I am going to have to make a decision at some point through the week about how I cover next weekend without wrecking my chances of defending my Scottish Aquathlon title at Loch Lomond.
I had a shortage of run miles last week and made some of that up with a big weekend this weekend. But I have done nothing fast for a few weeks now and am going in to the Scottish Aquathlon Champs with no speed in my legs, and with my hip really starting to bother me. Still no word on the appointment for my next set of injections, which my cynicism now suggests will not be before the Europeans.
Once again a rubbish set of ancillary sessions. Yoga and stretching will be high priority next week to try and get some of the tension out of my legs before racing.
